Gosh... I hope I don't jinx myself by putting this on paper.
Apparently, my brain decided I didn't have enough sidequests. A week into the new school year, I submitted a piece of my writing to a writing competition at my school.
In short, there is a French teacher and a published author, and they will help you through drafting a story that you will submit to a jury, which will then decide whether your book gets published or not.
Because yes, there will be three laureates.
And we are ten.
No pressure... None...
But on a serious note, my book concept is SO weird. Because I have been writing for about three years now and have a few finished manuscripts, I decided to take on a challenge.
And today, during my first workshop session, I kind of wished I had chosen something else.
A girl chose the DREAM romantasy scenario. Like, it is INSANELY well thought out. And it reminded me of one of my old books.
And then there is this other girl writing a society that is basically a feminist's worst nightmare. Yes, I LOVE what she is trying to communicate through it.
And then there is this girl writing about a girl whose father dies and whose mother remarries, and there are SO MANY emotions to play with there. LIKE. So many possibilities.
There are many more ideas, but these are the ones that stuck with me.
My idea, in short:
What if I pointed out something about society through a dystopia, but made Society itself the protagonist?
We are three in total who are writing philosophy.
I am the only one without a conventional protagonist...
To all my fellow authors out there: Send help.
