This might be one of the most important years of my life.
I am in a French school, and this year I have the DNB (Diplôme National du Brevet), which is a slightly less dramatic version of the Baccalauréat. We have internships, a mock test, the WORKS, basically. I just realized how important this year is academically for me.
It is also my first year of orientation, when I am expected to start exploring what I want to be in the future.
It's not hard for me: I want to help people.
And I have HIGH ambitions. I am deeply aware of that.
I am already working on policy in my own school to make pads permanently free (because they don't have a budget for that), and maybe install more sanitary things in the bathrooms.
But for some reason, it doesn't feel like enough for me.
Like, OF COURSE I know I am helping people at school who may simply not have enough money for pads, or whose parents are complicated, etc. And I am proud of that.
But I still feel like I should be helping on a deeper scale.
I want to do more. I want to understand bigger problems, work on bigger solutions, and eventually have an impact that goes beyond the walls of my school.
Sadly, life has other plans.
I feel like I am being logistically stopped before I even start...
